People, Moving
Public transit is meant to do one thing: move people. This simple idea was the force behind a complex project: a proposed rebranding of the underwhelming and underused Detroit People Mover. With this proposal, the light-rail system would expand from a small downtown loop to cover major urban corridors across the city of Detroit.
With this concept of human movement in mind, I developed a new identity for the system: people, moving. This identity was applied to numerous aspects of the rebranding, including subway maps, rail passes, environmental graphics, and station signage. Through this rebranding I hoped to create an accessible, practical, and expansive light-rail system that would effectively serve the city of Detroit.
